Who will be following Matt Cresci? Mazda has confirmed the 18 eligible racers for the 12th annual Mazda Road to 24 Shootout. This post-season shootout will award a $100,000 Mazda Motorsports scholarship to compete in the 2018 Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich® Tires. The shootout will take place December 8, 2017 at the Bondurant Racing School in Chandler, Arizona.

For one fortunate racer, it will take just 90 minutes to earn $75,000, or more, this Saturday at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca as Mazda stages the Mazda MX-5 Cup Challenge.  Both 45-minute races will be live streamed on Saturday, October 14.  Race one will be at 12:40 pm, while the second race will start at 5:00 pm.  Both are Pacific time zone.

Another clean sweep for McCumbee McAleer Racing. Patrick Gallagher led Round 8 of the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich® Tires from flag to flag on Sunday. He was chased to the finish line by series rookie Matt Cresci (No. 51 Slipstream Performance/Mazda Road to 24 Scholarship) who finished second, followed by Nathanial Sparks (No. 8 Sick Sideways Racing/Mazda Road to 24 Scholarship).
