DRIVE VIR APRIL 7 WITH SCDA TO PREP FOR THE SCCA HOOSIER SUPER TOUR

SCCA Licensed Racers can register now for the April 7 Sports Car Driving Association HPDE Track Event at VIRginia International Raceway and receive a $50 Discount.  Enjoy ample, quality track time at this historic track and prepare for the 2021 SCCA Hoosier Super Tour following SCDA’s HPDE track event.

One of America’s premier amateur racing organization, the Sports Car Club of America, will host a round of the Hoosier Super Tour at the iconic Virginia International Raceway.  Dozens of classes will compete for victory over the weekend following SCDA’s track event.

On April 7th, the Sports Car Driving Association (SCDA) will host a one-day HPDE Track Event open to all experienced level drivers at Virginia International Raceway.  SCDA events are specifically for street sports cars and closed wheel race cars.  Drivers are grouped by similar experience level, providing a non-competitive and welcoming environment for all experience level drivers to develop.  Many race cars (especially Mazda Spec Miatas, which they have for rent) use SCDA days as a test day for race events.

“The April 7th SCDA event at VIR will be a great way to master the track in a low stress environment, similar to a test day,” commented Elivan Goulart, the owner and operator of SCDA as well as a Mazda pro racing champion. “In addition, we have expert instructors to help learn the secrets to VIR, classroom sessions, the SCDA’s own Lead/Shadow instructors, and professional data/video coaching available by Peter Krause.” The VIR event utilizes the track’s 3.27-mile full course, just like most major racing events at VIR.

Drivers will get up to two hours of high value track time ideal for simulating the lengthy sprint races of the Hoosier Super Tour.  Days typically consist of four 30-minute sessions on-track.  In addition, either 60 minutes (for advanced drivers) or 90 minutes (for intermediate and novice groups) of virtual classroom time is included.  If conditions allow, classroom learning will happen in person.  VIR event entry fees are $399 for April 7 and SCCA Licensed Drivers will receive a $50 Discount.
