TNI Racing

TNI Racing has been added by Mazda Motorsports, in conjunction with the Spec MX-5 Challenge Series presented by Toyo Tires, to their Preferred Race Shop list. This short list of West Coast race shops is for race car builders for the MX-5 Spec series using the Mazda Miata NC body, 2006 – 2015 chassis.

TNI Racing has been racing the first and second generation Mazdaspeed3 since 2008 within the United States Touring Car Championships (USTCC). TNI Racing’s dominant performance in the Sportsman class with the 2006 NC Mazda Miata has caught the attention of Mazda Motorsports, which helped spark the conversations to bring TNI to the Spec MX-5 Challenge Series.

TNI Racing has been running for championship this year in USTCC. The final race – a two-hour – will be held this weekend at Thunderhill (November 13-14, 2021).

More About TNI Racing
TNI Racing was formed to compete in the USTCC with a single stock Mazdaspeed3 by owner and driver, Ron Valtierra. TNI has finished on the top steps in the championships, numerous podiums, track records and a solid reputation as a top-tier team in the USTCC. Ron Valtierra was the rookie of the year in the 2010 USTCC season, and a driving instructor for the National Autosport Association (NASA), and other local driving clubs in Northern California.

Brad Austin has been racing motorcycles and cars for 20 years and is currently driving with TNI Racing in the USTCC in the Sportsman class. Driving his 2006 Mazda MX-5, he has and holds lap records at both Laguna Seca and Sonoma Raceway.

TNI Racing has been a staple in the paddock with NASA and other track events, earning a reputation for a team, family, and welcoming hand throughout the years.  With multiple Mazdaspeed 3 race cars, trackside support, race car rentals, and a hospitality minded setup, is what we have come to be known to all who choose to race and hang out with TNI Racing. Since moving to different makes and models and adding the Mazda MX-5 NC Miata of Brad Austin has created new opportunities within the shop and at tracks for maintenance and new builds and developments.
