Goodyear Continues Support in GT-3 Challenge presented by MPI

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company supports the racers not only with racing tires, but with tires for their daily driver

The 2021 GT-3 Challenge presented by MPI kicks off this weekend at Buttonwillow Raceway Park with the third SCCA’s Hoosier Super Tour event of the year. Last year’s SCCA Runoffs champ (making him a 10X champ) and 2x Le Mans racer Michael Lewis (’95 RX-7) headlines the event, but will have Taz Harvey (’92 RX-7), Jose Rodriguez (’95 RX-7), Mike Henderson (’95 RX-7), Troy Ermish (’06 350Z), and several others to challenge for the win. GT-3 is set to run with STL, STU, T2, T3, and T4, which the GT-3 field being comprised of the most racers. Once again, the GT-3 class is getting stronger.

“Goodyear supports not only the racer at the track, but at home,” commented Jay Chapman, Sales Account Manager, Global Race Tires, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. “We are fortunate to have such an amazing group of people and brand advocates in club racing, especially when one of the best SCCA racers of all time, Michael Lewis, chooses to compete on Goodyears.

“We all have commitments and tasks that usually require tires as part of the journey. We are committed to being the tire that takes someone to the top of the podium, as well as safely carries the family to the grocery store or wherever they desire. We are proud that Goodyear tires have a proven track record of safety, performance, and quality both on and off the racetrack.”

With how competitive the GT-3 field is, there will likely be more than three racers on the podium this weekend, with Goodyear’s very likely there once again. But for those who do not end up on one of the steps, they may still end up with a prize being part of the GT-3 Challenge presented by MPI.

Goodyear is offering a set of tires for the daily driver to be raffled for each of the five regular season Challenge events. Since the kick-off of GT-3 Challenge presented by MPI in November 2018, dinners and raffles have been a mainstay of the series, and just one more way that the series partners have rallied together to support the racers, crew and families. While COVID-19 has put the gatherings on hold, the support from the partners has not wavered, and the raffles continue.
