Spec Miata Race Recap with IMSA

The Race to Save the Children Spec Miata Charity event saw 51 Spec Miatas compete during the 60-minute, rain-filled Sunday race.

“We are extremely excited to say that we have raised more than $3200 over the course of the weekend between entries, donations from the drivers, t-shirt and facemask sales, and a very generous commitment from Road America,” stated David Wessel, President of the Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs, which sanctioned the event.

With 51 cars taking the green flag in wet conditions, the race was clean overall, once again showing that the Spec Miata drivers put on a great show for the fans. Road America-specialist and Advanced Autosport racer Voytek Burdzy took the win over Tyler Brown, Justin Casey (Mazda Road to 24 nominee), Chris Craft, and Brandon Collins (Mazda Road to 24 Finalist), respectfully. The unofficial results can be found here.

For those interested in donating to the “Save the Children” effort, the link to donate is here.  For the remainder of the year, Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs will continue to donate $1 from every entry at every event and will have a couple of other special offers to finish off the year to help raise the funds! Its $5000 goal is in clear sight after this weekend.
