The Sports Car Club of America launched a new program this year that makes track time pretty fun, simple and cheap. So here are some details on SCCA Track Night in America Driven by Tire Rack.
According to the SCCA, Track Night in America is one of the easiest ways for nearly anyone to get on a real racing circuit with almost any car. Participants only need to be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license, and have access to a racing helmet and street car in good working condition; no racecars are permitted!
You don’t need to be an SCCA member to participate, and no previous on-track experience is required to join the fun. Entrants are divided into Novice, Intermediate or Advanced groups so on-track time remains enjoyable for everyone.
SCCA Track Night in America Driven by Tire Rack has been hosting drivers at more than 15 race circuits since April. Learn more and check out the schedule at www.TrackNightinAmerica.com; you can take your Mazda for a spin at tracks such as the Milwaukee Mile, Portland International Raceway, NOLA Motorsports Park (New Orleans), Atlanta Motorsports Park, New Jersey Motorsports Park, Palm Beach International Raceway, Pittsburgh International Race Complex, Memphis International Raceway, and several other awesome tracks around the U.S.!
The cost is only $150 per entrant and grants three 20-minute sessions on track, as well as access to SCCA coaches. Admission is free for those wishing to just hang out, take pictures, enjoy the festivities or display cherished rides; a leisurely track parade lap is offered during most events for all guests.
