Building a Partnership

Mazda Motorsports Enters Fourth Year of Partnership with ModSpace

Mazda Motorsports spends a lot of time with young drivers talking about how to build business partnerships to advance their careers. The partnership that Mazda enjoys with ModSpace has been building on both a figurative and a literal standpoint since 2010. Mazda is happy to announce that partnership will continue in 2014.

Modular Space Corporation – ModSpace – is a leading provider of modular buildings, portable storage and temporary or permanent space solutions. ModSpace also has a dedicated Sports & Entertainment Division that offers a full line of modular facilities and amenities specifically for this market sector.

“Having partners like ModSpace, who are hands-on in their involvement, is amazing,” says John Doonan, Director of motorsports for Mazda North American Operations. “They have amazing products that fit many business applications, including our use at racetracks across the county, and at some of our Mazda dealers like CJ Wilson Mazda. The overlaps of the partnership are serving the needs of many while working within the tight budgets that everyone needs today.”

Not only does CJ Wilson Mazda have ModSpace constructions at its dealership, it also has ModSpace as the primary sponsor of the No. 5 MX-5 in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Street Tuner class. That car is driven by Stevan McAleer and Chad McCumbee and is one of two the team runs in the series.

“Having Mazda and ModSpace together has been great for my team and my dealership,” says C.J. Wilson, owner of CJ Wilson Mazda and CJ Wilson Racing. “Not only have we been able to up our game at the racetrack together but ModSpace has helped us increase our capacity via constructing a permanent storage building on our dealer lot. ModSpace Motorsports and Mazdaspeed are a huge part of our team!”

As Wilson says, the partnership goes well beyond just having the ModSpace name on the side of an MX-5. Notes William Mann, Vice President of Motorsports: “ModSpace doesn’t just want branding on a racecar. Our intent is to use our motorsports program as a business tool to entertain our customers and partners. We look forward to providing experiences for our customers that build long term relationships and thanks to Mazda Motorsports we have an exciting way to showcase our products and services in a unique manner.”
