Series: IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge
Class: Street Tuner (ST)

Mazda is coming off of a powerful 2015 season where co-drivers Chad McCumbee and Stevan McAleer drove their ModSpace MX-5 to the championship in the ST category. The duo grabbed victories at Watkins Glen and Lime Rock Park to secure the team title for CJ Wilson Racing. Close behind in the point standings was driver Andrew Carbonell and co-driver Liam Dwyer for Freedom Autosport. Carbonell was third in the final standings, while Dwyer missed one race and finished sixth. The duo won an emotional victory at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in May, 2015, leading an all-Mazda sweep of the ST podium finishers.

Freedom Autosport: The Freedom Autosport team will return in 2016 with their distinctive green and white U.S. Marine Corp themed MX-5s. The team is expected to reunited Carbonell and Dwyer in one car, while their second entry is expected to feature powerhouse drivers. The team will also enter a third car at select events.

ALARA Racing: Team owner Ara Malkhassian has been racing Mazdas for more than 20 years. The multi-car team owner in the Idemitsu MX-5 Cup Series presented by BFGoodrich® Tires moved up to the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge in 2015, winning multiple pole positions and podium finishes with Mazda scholarship winner Christian Szymczak and his frequent co-driver Justin Piscitell. The team is expected to be strong again in 2016, with a full driver lineup yet to be announced.
