If a young racer has already done everything he or she can in karts, but is still too young to have a driver’s license, then his or her options are limited. With that issue in mind, Ron Cortez and Mazda created a teen-run Spec Miata class within the larger Spec Miata class within a NASA weekend.

The Teen Mazda Challenge is also one of the qualifying series which includes eligibility for the annual Mazda Road to 24 Shootout. To keep travel costs to a minimum, there are multiple regional championships.

Need proof that it works? Ask Elliott Skeer or Nathanial Sparks. Both jumped directly from the Teen Mazda Challenge to the Idemitsu MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich® Tires with great success.
