IMSA WEATHERTECH SPORTSCAR CHAMPIONSHIP
At the pinnacle of Mazda Motorsports’ professional racing activities is the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the Daytona Prototype International class. Here, Mazda fields a two-car factory team competing for overall wins at North America’s marquee sports car races like the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring and Petit Le Mans. In these grueling contests of speed and endurance, Mazda utilizes the design and engineering expertise that produces its consumer cars – including the CX-5, new Mazda3 and recently announced CX-30 – with the striking Mazda RT24-P.
TC America
TC America, formerly known as World Challenge, sees many of the world’s greatest sports cars compete in a ferocious sprint-race format. With one driver and no pit stops, these races place an emphasis on pure speed.
The Mazda MX-5 Cup car is a popular choice for the TCA class. The third-generation Miata can also compete in the Touring Car class, where Mazda racers have won championships in a variety of models, from MX-5s to Mazda6s, over the years.
Each of the teams competing with a Mazda in TC America are privateers; however, Mazda Motorsports offers a healthy contingency program to support those who race our products.
